Typo

Cotton On is a new Australian clothing store which has just opened in South Africa. The clothing is nice, but the best thing about Cotton On is that they also sell stationery! They have a super cool stationery brand called Typo in the Cotton On stores. They don't stock the entire range which they have online but they do have some super cool things. I spent a fortune yesterday a the Canal Walk branch.
Some of the things they have in SA.
Definitely check out Typo if you need a 2012 diary, they had a huge selection and they are very affordable.

Typo, please bring more of your cool things to South Africa!

Images from The Constantia Gift Fair

Christine Watters came to visit me at the Constantia Gift Fair today, she came armed with her camera and took some amazing pictures for me. I am always amazed at how she manages to take such pretty pictures in such terrible light.
Thanks Chris, for the fantastic pictures. Visit her website for more images by Christine Watters.

Bow Peep stationery

Opening a stationery shop has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I was that kid in school with the massive space-case which had every colour pencil and gadgets  from around the world which my mom would bring for me when she went overseas. My family still brings me stationery when they go overseas. So it was inevitable that I start making my own stationery. Give me a few years till I open my stationery shop but it will happen one day.

But in the mean time these are some fabric covered note pads I made yesterday.
I am working on a range of hand bound note books and sketch pads which will hopefully be on sale later in the year.

Flowermill

I have had a dream to open a stationery shop since I was little, when I do I will definitely have Flowermil cards and giftwrap! I saw Florwemill’s products at Design Indaba last year and they have have great. I usually don’t buy birthday cards because make them myself but these are super cool!

Olive Manna

So I have spent the past two days looking for companies that ship wholesale Bakers Twine and Washi tape to South Africa (more on that soon) but during my search I found a website called Olive Manna which stocks some really cool stuff.

Please don’t hide from me!

I have been on an internet hunt for some craft things which you can't get in South Africa (or only online and its very over priced).

I am on the hunt for wholesale/bulk bakers twine, after calling every twine manufacture in SA I must conclude that you can only buy bakers twine online. Its such a simple thing but so hard to track down. If anyone knows where I can find it in SA please let me know. I don’t want to pay crazy online prices.

The other thing I am looking for is Japanese Washi Tape which is essentially cool masking tape. I found some in the Space the other day but it was R140 for three small little rolls. In Japan its like R30 for one big roll.

I am also on the hunt for wooden spools to wind ribbon on (old school style). I'm trying to have to find someone to make them  for me. It would be amazing to find some second hand spools but the Cape Town second hand shops haven't been much help.
